Jeffrey Ackert, BSc. - Independent Director
Mr. Ackert began his career as a regional geologist with St. Joe Minerals, Bond Gold Canada and LAC Minerals in the 1980s. In 1990 he became mine geologist at LAC Minerals' Golden Patricia Mine (Barrick Gold Corp after 1994) where he specialized in production and exploration. In 1996 he was appointed VP Exploration for Orezone Resources Inc., focusing on West Africa, and was subsequently named VP Technical Services in 2005. During his time at Orezone, its market cap increased from $2M to over $300M due to development of Orezone’s projects in West Africa.
Mr. Ackert has served as VP Exploration, President and CEO and a director of Carube Copper Corp. and its predecessor over various intervals from 2012 until 2017. Presently, he is VP Business Development of Carube Copper Corp. He is also a director of Advance Gold Corp. and Altai Resources Inc., both listed on the TSXV and Auropean Ventures Inc., a private company with operations in Europe. Mr. Ackert is the sole principal of JSA International Geoconsulting. He was VP Exploration and a director of Mayo Lake Minerals from 2011 through 2017. Presently he continues as a director. Mr. Leblanc began his career on the money market desk at the Bank of Canada in 1973 and in 1977 moved to Export Development Canada as an International Economist. In 1984 he was hired by McLeod Young Weir, a Canadian investment dealer, which later became Scotia McLeod. In 1992 he joined Richardson Greenshields who were then acquired by RBC Dominion Securities in 1996. He was named a Vice President of RBC in 1996 and held the position until he retired in 2009. Following 1984 he specialized in commodity and currency futures and options.
Mr. Leblanc is involved in commercial real estate development in the Ottawa region. He presently is the principal and President of Carp Retirement Properties Inc. and Storeyworks Development Inc. He holds positions on the Boards of several quasi-governmental institutions. From 2012 until 2017, he served as a director of Carube Copper Corp. (originally Carube Resources Inc, a publically listed company with operations in Jamaica and Canada). Mr. Leblanc has been a director of Mayo Lake Minerals since its inception in 2011. He is also a director of Auropean Ventures Inc., a privately held junior exploration company with operations in Europe. Mr. Bowles has been in the investment business since 1994. During this time he has worked for several leading independent investment dealers in Toronto, New York and London as a fixed income trader and investment banker and in institutional sales. He has been credited with helping build one of Canada's leading resource focused investment dealers. Most recently, Mr Bowles specialized in providing institutional equity sales coverage with a focus on European based institutions. He maintains a substantial number connections to financial market insiders, analysts and managers.Mr. Bowles is the founder and principal of investment advisory firm, Ironstone Capital Corporation. Ironstone specializes in counseling emerging resource based companies regarding share capital, alternative financing, initial public offerings and strategic initiatives.
Mr. Bowles has been a director of Mayo Lake Minerals since 2017. He is also director of TSX listed Levon Resources Ltd. and TSXV listed Richmond Minerals Inc. |
